Classic Long Island Radio

Classic Long Island Radio (CLIRadio) is a commercial-free internet radio station broadcasting from Atlanta, Georgia, with roots firmly planted on Long Island, New York.

I’m David D. Doerrier, founder, owner, and program director. I grew up on Long Island in the 60’s & 70’s when stations like WABC, WNBC, WNEW, and WBAB provided the soundtrack of my youth. They introduced me to incredible artists, albums, deep tracks, and the excitement of never knowing exactly what the DJ might play next.

That experience inspired my own broadcasting career. While serving in the U.S. Air Force, I began working on weekends at K57AM on Guam in the early 1980s, launching a 12-year radio career that took me to Northern California, Guam (again), Houston, and Atlanta.

Today, CLIRadio recreates the kind of radio I loved growing up with in the 60’s & 70’s, and the discs I spun on stations a world away in the 80’s. You'll hear familiar favorites alongside Album-Oriented Rock (AOR), deep tracks, forgotten songs, Jazz, Blues, R&B, Country, and unexpected discoveries from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

That’s the twist.
